In the story, the "Summertime Sadness" singer was quoted as saying: "I wish I was dead already." When the interviewer asks if her heroes like Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain are glamorous because they died early, Lana supposedly replied: "I don't know. Ummm, yeah."
Frances took to Twitter to criticize the singer for her comments. "The death of young musicians isn't something to romanticize. I'll never know my father because he died young & it becomes a desirable feat because ppl like you think it's "cool"...well, it's f**king not. Embrace life, because you only get one life. The ppl u mentioned wasted that life. Don't be 1 of those ppl," she Tweeted.
The 21-year-old later added she wasn't trying to attack Lana and was just trying to give some perspective from someone who lost her father to suicide. Lana says her comments were taken out of context and responded to Frances today on Twitter.
@alka_seltzer666 it's all good. He was asking me a lot a out your dad I said I liked him because he was talented not because he died young-

Lana's music has always been fairly dark, but perhaps she's feeling extra sad because she reportedly broke up with her boyfriend recently. Either way, we're glad she clarified her comments since there's certainly nothing chic about suicide.
