Halle Berry and Jennifer Garner have teamed up to try to get a law passed that will make it illegal for paparazzi to photograph children.Halle Berry and Jennifer Garner have had enough! The two super famous supermoms are tired of their children being stalked and photographed by the paparazzi.
During a hearing in Sacramento this morning, Jennifer Garner plead her case.
"I chose a public life," she acknowledged. As for her kids, however, the actress argued, "My three children are private citizens...They're beautiful and sweet and innocent, and I don't want a gang of shouting, arguing, lawbreaking photographers who camp out everywhere we are all day, every day, to continue traumatizing my kids."
Halle Berry also testified and has told some serious horror stories about things paparazzi have said to Nahla to try to get a reaction out of both her and her daughter.
She also pointed out that when groups of people are allowed to follow her child, it also presents another danger. "There are violent mentally ill stalkers who can now get close to my kids by simply following mobs of photographers and blending in," she said. "Like the very man who threatened to cut the babies out of my belly, who was arrested waiting behind our daughter's preschool standing among the throng of paparazzi."
The two actresses are fighting to pass Senate Bill 606--which, if passed, would classify photographing or recording a child without their parent or guardian's permission as harassment.
Do you think celebrities' children should be off-limits for paparazzi?
