We're so inspired!

Our favorite surfer (we featured her on TBE), Bethany Hamilton, has made it into the PBS documentary Makers: Women Who Make America. Bethany is in great company as Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey and Katie Couric (among many others) made the list as well.

Makers: Women Who Make America shows how women have helped shape America in the last 50 years and also tells previously unknown stories of women who broke barriers in their chosen fields. Narrated by Meryl Streep, the film features first-person, intimate accounts of women who experienced this time of change.

"I try to encourage girls to just think about their choices," Bethany, who lost her left arm in a shark attack when she was just 13 and kept surfing, said in her interview with PBS. "And really find what they're passionate about in life and try to enjoy that."

The documentary Makers: Women Who Make America airs at 8 p.m. tonight on PBS.

Please visit www.makers.com to find out which other incredible women, like these below, made the cut.

One of NYC's First Female Firefighters: Brenda Berkman
First Woman IndyCar Driver: Danica Patrick
Nora Ephron on Real-Life Inspiration for 'When Harry Met Sally'
Ursula Burns, the First African-American Female CEO of a Fortune 500 Company
