The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are celebrating Bastille Day in Paris...what could possibly go wrong?
We'll have to wait until the next episode for all the grisly details, but it looks like Kim Richards may have hit the minibar--and a speed bump on her road to recovery.
Quelle ironie, considering just days before Kim had staged an intervention for fellow Housewife, Taylor Armstrong. After the lippy blonde misplaced her daughter (aka "a handoff issue") during a tipsy weekend, Kim feels compelled to confront the maybe-too-merry widow about her drinking.
Instead of flipping out or cowering in a suitcase, Taylor is receptive and shares a sisterly hug with the Richards siblings. (Disappointingly, the only real fireworks we saw in this episode were splashed in the skies over the Eiffel Tower. )
Taylor passes on the Parisian rendezvous, which happens completely organically at Yolanda's housewarming party--at the new mansion of her ex-husband, Mohamed. There we learn the reason for their surprisingly amicable breakup: "Faithfulness is not his strongest point," Yolanda says dryly.
When someone jokes about Brandi Glanville dating Mohamed, the truthsayer denies it, quipping, "I'm too old for him and he's too old for me."
After realizing they would both be in Paris at the same time (imagine that!), Yolanda and Lisa Vanderpump persuade Brandi to join them. In yet another belief-defying coincidence, Kyle and her hubby, Mauricio, reveal they too would be there on precisely that date. THAT IS BRAND-NEW INFORMATION! Well, they might as well invite Marisa and her ol' ball-and-chain, also known as her husband Dean, too.
(Tragically, the Zanucks had to cancel at the last minute: they learned en route to the airport that his father, Oscar-winning producer Richard Zanuck, had just died of a heart attack.)
While the other girls gathered at LAX, Lisa and her hubby Ken were already in St. Tropez, visiting his super hot 45-year-old son, Warren. (We know his age because Bravo bizarrely included it in the lower-third graphic.)
Things to know about Warren: He's hot; he's filthy rich; he's five years younger than Lisa, his stepmother; he's married to Lisa's old friend, a former Bond girl; his taste in fashion, especially blazers, is questionable; he has a 21-year-old son; and he's hot.
Warren flies his parents to Paris by helicopter, so they make it to the hotel just in time to celebrate French National Day with their co-stars. But Kim--who defied expectations by remembering to bring her passport to the airport--has gone AWOL.
When she finally arrives, everyone is suspicious about her zanier than usual behavior. Then again, Brandi has been licking Ken's hair and explaining the "rules about penetration" for married couples inviting another partner into their bedrooms. ("I'll stick with the ménage à deux," cracks Kyle.)
Did Kim really fall off the wagon? The previews for next week certainly suggest so, with Kim sobbing to her sister about "history repeating itself." Also: The Housewives play chef with "furry quack quacks" and Kyle and Lisa have a confrontation atop the Eiffel Tower. The question is: Do both come down safely?
