Well, this headline seemed inevitable, given Zayn Malik's outspoken Twitter posts since he left One Direction. You know, the unavoidable "meltdown" rumors.We've seen celebs on the downward spiral before, but is Zayn heading that way? His friends are reportedly concerned.
After Zayn's decision to leave 1D, he got in a spat with former bandmate Louis Tomlinson, fired back at former BFF Naughty Boy, signed with a new record company, broke up with fiancée Perrie Edwards, threw shade at Perrie and Little Mix, and got in a fight with Calvin Harris over a retweet that mentioned Taylor Swift. Yeah...you could say Zayn has really changed a bit.
The Sun's Dan Wooton even admits he's received some "unpleasant direct messages" from Zayn, "full of swearing and insults."
A source tells The Sun: "Zayn has been acting like a complete idiot. He was protected and looked after for so long by so many people who genuinely cared about him and his future. But now he has refused to have anything to do with anyone who is still involved with One Direction - from Syco to Modest Management to his old friends at the US label."
The insider added, "He's proving himself to be a hugely disloyal person."
A former friend of Zayn's also told the paper: "He's a little boy who needs to grow up. It's really bad for him...He is self-destructing right now and I hope he's got someone there for him. I doubt he has, though, so that's why I'm worried for him."
The pal notes that Zayn is "p***ing off so many people, it's very hard to see him having much support left by the time he's finally ready to release any music," calling him "power crazy."
Well, that's a lot to chew on, right? Still, fans have noticed that Zayn is not the same person he was when he was part of 1D. Was this just always him though, but the band's management had to keep him on track to best represent One Direction?
