Cosmetics imageHow many hours a day do you spend watching makeup tutorials and OOTD videos on YouTube? Admit it, more than you can actually count.
Beauty gurus have changed the beauty industry - they basically taught me how to do a smokey eye and the PERFECT red lip. They are lifesavers!

We all know Michelle Phan - she even has her own makeup line! Does Bethany Mota ring a bell? This gorgeous guru is taking over the world with her clothing line at Aeropostale, her participation on Dancing With The Stars - she even released a single on iTunes!

We HAVE to talk about Ingrid Nilsen and her "coming out" video - I was in tears! She didn't only help girls by teaching them how to do their makeup, but she also inspired a lot of people to stay true to themselves! Another YouTuber who has stolen our hearts is Zoe Zugg, best known as Zoella, she's just beautiful - and her guinea pigs are the cutest thing I have ever seen!
There are many well known beauty gurus out there, but today, we decided to shine the spotlight on some gorgeous girls that have just caught our eye - trust me, you'll be hooked on their videos in no time.

1. Jackie Wyers

If you're tired of the same old OOTD videos, Jackie is for you. She just won life by combining the two things that us girls love the most - fashion and Taylor Swift.

2. Jill Cimorelli

I've been watching Jill's videos for a while now, and let me tell you - her back to school videos are the BEST on the Internet! Plus, she's so incredibly down to earth!

3. Tess Christine

Tess just moved to the big city of New York - and honestly, she's living the dream! This beauty is an expert in style-steal videos and her makeup is always on point! Check her out!

4. Meghan Rienks

Meghan is actually an actress based in the beautiful city of Los Angeles - and honestly, she's so freaking funny!

P.S - her Instagram pics are seriously #GOALS.

Kristee, aka strawberryelectric48, always starts her videos with the phrase "hey girl, hey" - and that's just perfect.

6. Samantha Maria (beautycrush)

This London cutie has such a gorgeous style - and I swear she looks a little bit like Ashley Benson, what do you think?

7. Alex Centomo

This is the best way to describe Alex: goals, goals, GOALS.

This Woman Invented a Shower Curtain With a Crazy Water-Saving Feature

Man singing in the shower with a mohawk
I am ashamed to admit this as a Californian living through one of the worst droughts in the state's recent history, but in the spirit of honesty I should spill that I am a huge fan of long, hot showers. I'm all about fancy body washes, exfoliating scrubs, and conditioners that take a good five minutes to set in. Apparently I'm not alone, because artist Elisabeth Buecher just created a brilliant new shower curtain that could help curb long showers - and you'll never believe what it does.

Elisabeth's concern for water conservation gave her the idea to create a curtain that will encourage users to get out of the shower and towel off. How? By having the shower curtain inflate so that there is no longer any room at all underneath the shower. One design features a shower with inflatable "spikes" that will physically push you away from the water after four minutes. Check out the crazy prototype below:

Elisabeth's hilarious (and smart) design isn't actually for sale - Elisabeth created it to spark a discussion about our water usage. So far, it's working: Elisabeth's design has reminded me to put down the body scrub and start turning off the water when I put on a hair mask - we all need to be better about saving those drops.

Everyone Has Experienced This Embarrassing Moment, Right?

Young woman covering face with hands, portraitEveryone in the world has embarrassing moments in life, even the cool kids (no matter what Echosmith says). Hey, the celebs do, too - plus it's always broadcasted! And then there's me, a simple outcast with one-10th of a social life, but no biggie. There is absolutely NO WAY around them whatsoever.

My most embarrassing moment was on my first day at my new middle school. It was time for lunch, and I had just gotten my tray of food - spaghetti - and began to find a seat amongst tons of people I had absolutely no clue about.

However, as I walked by a table full of girls, one of them stood up quickly and turned around, her hand hitting my tray. My tray came up and dumped all over me, and spaghetti spilled ALL OVER my clothes and on the floor. Everyone in the cafeteria turned around to look, and then they began laughing.
I ended up having to go to the nurse's office - and on top of that, I was being escorted by the principal and a teacher since I had no idea where the office was. I had to walk all the way across campus with food all over me. At the nurse's office, I ended up getting a clean shirt and clean pants. Everyone knows that the clothes from the nurse's office are horrible. I left the nurse's office only to be laughed at by passing students because of the clothes and for the cafeteria incident.
ron swanson gifThis is just one embarrassing incident out of many in my life. Everyone has them, so relax and let the moments flow.

5 Problems Only Girls With Long Hair Will Understand

$

Woman picking flowers, Punta Del Este, UruguayAh, long hair. I'm personally a fan.

When I was little, my parents cut and kept my hair super short - and I mean REALLY short. I looked like a boy in my red Gap sweater and my gray sweatpants out in our driveway playing hockey. Sometimes I wish that my parents would have let my hair grow out, like all the other baby pictures that my friends show me.

Eventually, I took control of the way I looked and dressed. I made my mom stop buying the sparkly plaid shirts, GAP butterfly-embroidered jeans and the twinkle-toed Sketchers. I also got rid of my short and baby-ish bangs and began to grow them out, along with the rest of my hair. I've left my hair long ever since - it was the way all the other girls wore theirs, so I couldn't STAND to look at my short hair any longer.

I love my long hair - I like to brush it, straighten it and put it in a ponytail. But, in the case of most situations, where there is happiness, there is inconvenience. Here are five of the biggest problems girls with long hair face every day - can you relate?

1. After the Shower

People with short hair are lucky - after they get out of the shower, they can quickly dry and comb their hair out. If you have long hair, like me, you would know that unless you want to deal with a ratty and wet mess the following morning, you need to spend a solid 45 minutes drying, combing, blow drying and tying your hair. That's two episodes of OITNB down the drain. #thestruggleisreal
i feel you gif

2. You Have to Deal With Your Hair EVERY Morning

It's 7 a.m., and you have to go to school. You're already tired enough from staying up until 1 a.m. on Instagram and Tumblr, but you can't leave the house like a hobo. So, you begrudgingly grab a hairbrush and spend 20 minutes trying to get out the knots from the night before - no thanks.
ugh no thank you gif

3. Getting Your Hair Done Is Like Traveling to Singapore and Back

I once sat in a hair chair for six hours - SIX HOURS - just so I could get my hair straightened. If you just go to a regular salon, they take extra time to brush your hair, cut it, wash every inch, etc. It's time consuming AF! :/

aint nobody got time for that gif
4. Watch Your Clothing

It seems like every time I purchase something that has a zipper, I lose MANY hair strands. Whenever I go to zip up my jacket, my hair ALWAYS gets caught, and I spend more time than needed trying to pull it out without the hair detaching from my head - ugh!
so annoying gif

5. So Many Styles

Sure, options are great - usually. When you have long hair, the options are endless, which makes for a cloud of indecisiveness. Braids? Ponytail? Bun? Pigtails? Where do I even begin?

Can you relate to one or more?

Niall Horan Was Hanging Out With Selena - and Then Justin?

Los Angeles never sleeps. You can always meet someone, and it's not gonna be your neighbor. Anyway, who'd like to meet the neighbor when you can run into Justin Bieber?! I think that was Niall Horan's plan when he hung out in L.A. with Justin - even Cody Simpson joined to their two-person team. But never mind.

What's wrong with meeting your friend? We all know that Niall and Justin are friends - perhaps they're not? I think in this cruel world of show business, there's no place for true friendships and relationships. Speaking of which, Justin wasn't the only company of the boy from Mullingar. Earlier, Niall had been seen with Selena Gomez.

We don't exactly know the current situation between Selena and Justin, but it's not cool for Niall to hit on his friend Justin's ex-girlfriend, especially without consequences.
selena gomez and niall horanIs there a connection between Selena and Niall? Don't worry; you don't have to hide in the corner and cry your eyes out. My friend enlightened me (seriously, I haven't noticed it!) that it's nothing more than a publicity stunt. It's fantastic advertising for every single one of them.

One Direction has been getting a lot of attention lately - Zayn's tweets to Naughty Boy, Louis' fatherhood (people, please), Liam's "engagement" and God knows what more, while Niall was sitting somewhere in peace.

But, the drama must go on.

Girls can't just sleep at night. Louis has a baby, Liam and Zayn are already taken, Harry is the most sought-after (obviously), so all we have is Niall - the only one we can long for, knowing he's available. It's not weird, but planting him a supposed girlfriend just escalates the heat and drama.

Ed Sheeran Just Totally Took Taylor Swift's Side in That Nicki Minaj Feud

Ed Sheeran and Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift, you've got one heck of a friend! Ed Sheeran just totally defended his BFF when it came to that nasty Twitter feud with Nicki Minaj, and it just made us want him on our squad ASAP.

In case you missed the drama, Nicki felt some sort of way about her "Anaconda" and "Feeling Myself" videos getting axed from MTV's Video Music Awards' Video of the Year category. She fired off some tweets that Taylor so thought was aimed at her. That caused Taylor to respond back to Nicki's posts, and all hell broke loose.

A lot of people ripped Taylor a new one for chiming in, including Katy Perry. But that's a whole other story...

One person on Tay's side is Ed. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Eddie said that Tay did nothing wrong, despite missing Nicki's point about discrimination.

"I think everyone knows that Taylor has done nothing wrong in that situation. She didn't nominate herself for the awards. It's not her fault. She just made some good videos and people think they're good."

Aw, how sweet is he, seriously?! Taylor thought she did something wrong, though. This morning she posted an apology tweet to Nicki. To shine some light on the whole situation was our dude Bruno Mars. How epic was his response to the drama?

5 Seconds of Summer's Perfect Girlfriend Has to Like This

5 seconds of summer perfect girl datingWe can never get enough of 5 Seconds Of Summer dishing on their ideal girl - because, honestly, everything they say could be us. Hey, it never hurts to have a dream.

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Luke Hemmings spilled that a perfect girlfriend would be someone who is into the band - not, like, their music...but, he explained: "Someone that likes the band would be nice because I mean, that's hard to find someone that likes these three dudes. There's not many people that do."

Calum Hood added his two cents, saying: "You've got to try and find someone that can put up with the rest of the band really."

A Race Fetish Is Not Flattering

Lovely KissA couple of months ago at work, a co-worker said something to me that made me very uncomfortable. She was joking around, saying that another one of our co-workers has had a recent "black girl fetish," so she asked him what he thought about me. Um, OK.

To say I was offended was an understatement. Don't get me wrong. I don't work with a bunch of bigoted white supremacists or anything, but the fact that she thought a joke like that was funny just proves that North America still has a race issue.

Telling someone that a person has a fetish for some type of physical trait they have isn't a compliment. It's weird. It just means that they would only be interested in you because of the way you look. Not only that, but it also means that liking someone of a different race is somehow still seen as weird and different, and that's why it has to be a fetish.

No, he couldn't like me for who I am as a person, he would have to be "into black girls" in order for him to be interested like that. This is something I actually have to deal with more than one would think, and I'm sure it affects the self-esteem of other minority young women, too.

I'm not a fetish or a kink, I'm just me, and if you can't see past my skin color to get to know who I am, then I have no interest in you.

Latest Instagram Beauty Trend You Have to Try: #MultiMasking

A little pre-flight skin care using @boscia masks! 😝

A photo posted by Crystal Liz (@crystallize) on

We see a lot of beauty trends on Instagram that are weird AF. But one of the latest, #multimasking, combines the transformative power of face masks with the face-painting beauty tutorials that have been all over YouTube and Instagram (I mean, you've seen clown contouring, right?).

This genius idea stems from the fact that most people have combination skin with oily, acne-prone regions, dry patches, sensitive areas, and often, a mix of all three. Basically you apply different masks with a variety of active ingredients to the parts of your face that need it most.

But there are so many types of masks out there - charcoal, clay, antioxidant-rich - that it can be daunting to figure out what goes where. Generally, you should follow these guidelines:
  • For your T-zone (that's your forehead, nose and chin), you typically want to seek out a mask with charcoal or salicylic acid to zap zits.
  • Cheeks, the part of your face most prone to sun damage, should be treated to a vitamin C or peptide mask to combat the effect of harsh rays.
  • Since the skin around your eyes is super sensitive, you'll want to use a light retinol product to thicken the skin and start combating against wrinkles (hey, it's never too early!).

Marie Claire put together this awesome face map to show you which active ingredient works best for each region of your face.

Ready to get #multimasking? Here's a list of our favorite products on the market. We also recommend scooping up Boscia's The Art of Multi-Masking kit, which contains four respectably sized masks at a reasonable price -$34 - along with a brush for fun, war paint-like application.

Salicylic Acid Masks:

Here's Adam Levine Serenading Behati Prinsloo for Their Anniversary

Adam Levine is kind of the king of swoon-worthy moments.

For his latest stunt, the Maroon 5 frontman made his wife Behati Prinsloo (and us) melt when he decided to sing Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" to her for their first wedding anniversary.

According to NBC Bay Area, the serenading went down last weekend at Flora Farms in Cabo, where they got married last year. The duo headed back there to celebrate their first wedding anniversary, and Adam randomly decided to hop on stage and sing to his ladylove in the midst of dinner.
87th Annual Academy Awards - ArrivalsAs if that wasn't sweet enough, Adam gave Behati a smooch as everyone congratulated them on their milestone. That isn't in the clip, but you can definitely see the supermodel beaming throughout her hubby's performance (can you blame her?!).

Speaking of their trip to Cabo, Behati gave fans a glimpse into their vacay and got a little sentimental as well. In one particular post, she put up an image of 'you're so cool' three times, which is a tattoo that she and Adam both have. "The best year...," she captioned it. The tattoo happens to be her favorite quote from the movie True Romance.

Just trying to hold it together over here.

Chloe Grace Moretz Will Star in 'Neighbors 2' But Who Will She Play?

$

87th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals
If you loved the fraternity comedy Neighbors, then you might be surprised to learn that the sequel's newest addition to the cast won't be a frat bro. As reported by Variety, Chloe Grace Moretz has been cast in Neighbors 2 alongside Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, and Rose Byrne. The film starred our beloved Zac as a college senior hellbent on making his last year at his fraternity the best ever - much to the anger of Seth and Rose's characters, who are new parents trying to live a quieter existence. So where does Chloe fit into all of this?

We have no idea what Chloe's role in Neighbors 2 will be, but I have a hunch that this time around it won't be Zac who is the nuisance on the block and that Chloe may take the reigns. After all, the end of the first film saw Zac and Seth's characters in a friendly place, so it would be odd to completely ignore that happy ending in favor of a second bro war. Perhaps this time around it's actually a sorority that is ruining the parent's suburban existence - and they have to team up with their former enemy in order to shut down the sorority house once and for all.

I'm sure that Chloe is a total sweetheart in real life, but I wouldn't be surprised if the film has her slated to be the new villain. After all, this is the girl who played the manipulative Kaylie Hooper on 30 Rock, took down an entire high school as the titular character in Carrie, and kicked serious butt as Hit-Girl in Kickass. This starlet can play vicious, and it wouldn't shock me at all if she was the Queen Bee of a sorority house set on turning her block into a 24/7 party despite the neighbors' protests.

The new film is set for release on May 13, 2016.

Harry Styles Helps Crying Fan in This Sweet Video

Harry Styles comforts crying fan videoHarry Styles has proven he's an actual angel more times than we can count now. While he's come to the rescue of a fan in distress before, we can't help but gush over the latest video of him helping someone in need.

While back in L.A. after One Direction performed in Vancouver recently, he stopped to pose for pics and talk with adoring fans. One of the fans had a bit of a meltdown (understandable) and Harry made sure she was okay. Honest to goodness angel, that guy.

Harry asks if she's okay, giving her a comforting hug. The jealousy is strong in us...can you feel it? The girl's friends jokes: "You weren't supposed to cry until afterwards!"

Aw, raging jealousy aside (we're working on it, okay?), we're always thrilled to see Harry is such a kind-hearted, down to earth kind of guy.

Mariah Carey Dedicates "Hero" Performance to Her New Boyfriend

2015 Billboard Music Awards - ShowWhen it comes to Mariah Carey's new relationship, she appears to be shedding the "elusive" label in the name of love.

During a show at Caesars Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Mariah shouted out her new boyfriend James Packer, and even dedicated her performance of "Hero" to the 47-year-old businessman. Reportedly, James flew out to Mimi's show and had a front row seat to her onstage dedication.

"I have a new heart tonight," Mariah said to the crowd. "James is in my heart tonight."

Well, alrighty then, Mimi! Clearly, she's in heaven with her lovin' boyfriend and simply couldn't resist sharing her new status as a smitten, starry-eyed songstress with the world. Although the "#Beautiful" singer remained noticeably silent during her split with ex Nick Cannon she's happily taking a less tight-lipped approach with her new beau.

Things between the new couple seem to be progressing quite nicely. Just last month, we were still trying to figure out whether they were actually a thing after they were spotted holding hands in Capri, Italy. But now that Mariah has basically let us know that James is bae, we hope nothing but the best for the future of this fabulous (and ridiculously rich) duo.

Chris Brown Stuck in the Philippines, Asks for Pres. Obama's Help

2015 BET Awards - ArrivalsIs Chris Brown a huge enough celebrity to pull a favor from the president?

Well, we don't know about that, but seeing as how Chris is stuck in the Philippines at the present moment, the "Loyal" singer would like nothing more than to be added to the top of Pres. Obama's lengthy to-do list.

Earlier this week, Chris tried to leave the country after performing a show, but local promoters who claim Breezy owes them for bailing on an appearance last New Year's Eve pulled a last-minute #BBHMM move by preventing the singer from flying out to Hong Kong.

According to People, Chris and his promoter received $1 million for a concert, but the event organizers claim he was a no-show because he lost his passport.

Meanwhile, Chris took to Instagram to post a video (which has since been deleted) of himself sending up a quick prayer request to the governmental gods. In the clip that he captioned ""OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!," he briefly kneels while submitting his presidential plea, which is then followed by a back flip.

Um, beautifully executed back flips are always impressive, but we don't know if your gymnastic skills can get you out of this one, Chris.

WTF?! 12-Year-Old Girl Plays Piano While Sleepwalking

$

How many times have you heard someone claim to perform an activity so unbelievably well that they could do it in their sleep?

Well, that not-so-humble brag could certainly apply to 12-year-old Isabelle, whose family recently filmed her playing the piano while sleepwalking.

In the video uploaded to YouTube by Isabelle's cousin James Hodgson, she appears to be just as engulfed in banging out a few notes on the piano as she is getting in some serious snoozing. She leans on the fallboard while playing a couple of melodies, and at one point, she can even be heard snoring over the music.

The video caption notes that sleepwalking is a pretty regular occurrence for the preteen (as are piano lessons) but her involuntary nocturnal concert is far from normal. In an interview with the Mirror, James said, "On one occasion, she once came out into the lounge sleepwalking and sang 'Bicycle Race' by Queen, then went back to bed." He also claimed that Isabelle has no memory of her late-night solo jam session.

All we have to say is if the musical abilities of a homeless man playing the piano on the streets of Florida can lead to a $30,000 college scholarship, then we certainly can't wait to see what comes of Isabelle's insane musical multi-tasking skills.

Student Choir Gives the Sweetest Musical Gift to Teacher Battling Cancer

If scrolling through our list of inspiring quotes didn't quite get you to your daily feel-good quota, this next story is one serious spiritual pick-me-up (and it's a major tearjerker, too).

When the student chorus of Public School 22 in Staten Island, N.Y. met for their last practice, they decided to dedicate the performance to their teacher Adriana Lopez, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Singing Martina McBride's "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" a song that honors and supports cancer survivors and their loved ones, the young students delivered a beautifully harmonic rendition that was inspired by Adriana's "fighting spirit." Not only did their talent shine through, but the compassion they have for their teacher was evident on each of their faces, as well as through the pink flowers they each held up near the end of the song.

After crying her way through the students' performance, Adriana demonstrated that same spirit that inspired them, saying, "It's not easy but I will get through it because I have wonderful friends at this school."

The students' kindhearted gesture even managed to catch the attention of Martina, who shared a heartfelt response on Twitter: These students most certainly deserve the recognition (and much more!) for such a thoughtful and caring act.

Here's to wishing Adriana a speedy recovery.

Beauty Guru Michelle Phan Reveals Her Top Tips to Become a YouTube Star

2015 Endemol Beyond NewFrontsBeauty industry phenom Michelle Phan is a powerhouse...and she's totally inspirational.

The digital beauty and fashion pioneer, who has a legion of 7.5 million YouTube subscribers (and growing), is building an empire. In addition to her own company, ipsy, Michelle also recently partnered with Endemol Beyond USA to launch new premium lifestyle network ICON.

We caught up with Michelle at the ICON Creator Summit Tuesday in Los Angeles, to dish about all things ICON, her top tips for becoming a successful digital creator and what #BUILTBYGIRLS means to her.

"BuiltByGirls is a very empowering phrase," she told us. "It definitely shows that we're progressing as a society. That women have the opportunity to build anything - content, businesses, a family...it's so much more than just that. It's so exciting to see that as a humanity we are progressing and we're giving this power back to women and rebalancing it again which I think is really important."

Considering how Michelle has become such an influence and leader in the digital space, we were dying to know her top tip for becoming a YouTube star (or even mildly successful).

"You have to be self determined" she said. "Because you are your own one man or one woman studio. You're shooting yourself, you're producing it, you're writing it out, you're starring in it, you have to publish it and then you have to be your own PR. So, you are essentially your own entrepreneur. You're running your own business."

"That being said, any entrepreneur, any boss, any leader, you have to be very, very determined," she continued. "The internet is a shop that opens 24/7 every single day. It doesn't close shop. So, when you have this beast that needs content and you're not determined to feed it, it's going to be really hard for you to maintain it. So, that's my first tip, just having determination and having that discipline and drive."

Michelle also wants aspiring creators to know there is no such thing as right and wrong when it comes to creating digital content. "That's what I realized being online and creating content for so long," she said when we asked about the biggest lesson she's learned so far.

"I used to think the world was so black and white, but after seeing so many comments from people around the world with different perspectives, it gave me a much more rounded perspective on life," she continued. "There isn't such a thing as that one authoritative voice because anyone can be an authority in their own voice. I learned that I really am a unique person that can tell my own story and so is everyone else."

"Every person in this world has something to share and there is something remarkable about that. My dream is to hear more of these stories and connect more people together and maybe one day that can unify people instead of dividing us."

With the help of ICON, Michelle is hoping to achieve that. The company has been recruiting YouTube stars to create content for their network, like natural hair and beauty YouTube star Alba Ramos (SunKissAlba) and Irish lifestyle YouTube star Melanie Murphy.

As far as how to get noticed by Icon, Endemol Beyond USA Vice President of Programming Leslie Morgan told us the best way is to be yourself and be authentic. "Don't try to be something that you're not, because that will make us like 'what are you doing? Why are you acting this way?' and really be honest and true to what you want to do," she said. "So, if your passion is fashion, go for it. If your passion is cooking, travel, etc. go for that passion and just be who you are and be authentic."

To be who you are, go after your passion and never let anyone deter you from your dreams were all take home points from the summit, which brought together the network's creators for two days of growth and education. We only got a glimpse of it, but certainly left inspired.
