My room is my safe place. In my bedroom, I'm surrounded by
my favorite color pink,
books and, of course,
One Direction. One Direction is what everybody notices first, but there's a lot more to my room. I thought I would show you.
My Bedroom Door
At my last house (we moved into this one in 2012), my bedroom door was the only spot I could decorate with 1D pictures because my walls were painted with lyrics. When I started decorating this room, I decided to leave my bedroom door empty (because sometimes I throw medicine bottles at my door if my sister is standing outside my door being really loud while I'm trying to sleep). But then I got the "Take Me Home" poster and didn't have anymore room on my walls, and what's a girl to do? That cute little purple headband is a pair of Hello Kitty costume bat ears! Because I know you were wondering.
Closet Door
My closet door pretty much has the same story as my bedroom door. I wanted those posters up, especially
Teen Beach and Selena Gomez. I had to use last resort space for those!
Above the Doorframe Quotes
Our first weekend here was spent with me on the floor, watching
Psyche on Netflix Instant and making magazine quotes. I put two of these quotes above each of my door frames respectively.
Above my bedroom doorframe:
"I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you."
Above my closet doorframe:
"So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be."
Above my closet doorframe, I also have a replica that I made of the NOLA Six Flags sign for a Trunk-or-Treat.
Shoe Chest
Believe it or not, that's not even all of my shoes! I keep my flats in the closet in my bathroom.
I have 92 pairs. And that One Direction bag? It came free with my VIP ticket into an "Up All Night" soundcheck. Yeah, that happened.
Jewelry Wall
Because why use a jewelry tree when you can use a jewelry
wall?
Jewelry Tree
When my great aunt passed away in 2012, she left us with all of her
Christmas stuff. I wanted to find a way to make a use of one of her trees all year round, so I put all of my plastic jewelry on it. Apparently I needed one after all!
WindowsillI made that curtain up a few years ago. It used to be a pillowcase that I just opened it up and painted the lyrics to Demi Lovato's "Fix a Heart."
On my windowsill, I have the first
Vampire Diaries books, a Chansey Pokemon card (a replica of the very first Pokemon card I ever got), a Cyndaquil (the first video game Pokemon I ever had) card, a twig pencil that I got in Biloxi, a
Selena Gomez art piece I made, an aromatherapy candle of my grandma's that I was left with after she passed away, and my
Descendant book that my boyfriend bought for me.
Lyric Wall
The lyric wall is my absolute favorite in my room. I spent two months decorating card stocks with various lyrics by One Direction,
Ed Sheeran, Demi, the
Jonas Brothers and
Coldplay. The wall came out looking just the way I wanted it. I added a touch of Larry (even though I'm still an Elounor shipper through and through), and my brother gave me those polka dot stickers our first year here. (I remember when I showed them to a friend, she said, "You must really like polka dots." Haha!)
My stuffed animals and whatnot
One Direction Wall Número Uno
The bus poster was the very first of One Direction's I ever got, so I'm very proud of it. The magazine quote above is kind of ironic. But I made it three years ago, so...
"Our goals never changed and our ambitions never changed. We always wanted to go in the same Direction, so we called ourselves One Direction." - Zayn Malik
Go figure.
I've got a couple of other small quotes on that wall, and my two tickets stating I made it through a round of
X-Factor auditions.
Paperback Overflow
I have close to 200 books (and maybe 100 more e-versions), so they have to go somewhere, right? A lot of my paperbacks have ended up on the floor. And then there's three of my four copies of
The Fault in Our Stars, including an audio copy. And all of my Cassandra Clare books. You should also be able to see my high school graduation scrapbook.
I Used to Call It My Demi Lovato Wall, But Now There's a Lot More to It
Check out
Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence,
Willow Shields, a drawing of the clock arena from
Catching Fire, Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower. That sweatshirt was one I bought for my niece when she was 2-years-old.
Cher Lloyd
She's my favorite. I even made a cute piece of art with her name!
Double Windowsill
Those are my hardback books, CDs and collectible reindeer from 2010. My TV (which I've had for 10 years, by the way) is showing off my One Direction and
Taylor Swift cards from my 22nd birthday.
Bookshelf
My top shelf is my Christian shelf, then it's my DVD shelf and my series shelf. And then of course, there's Haylor.
Collection DVDs
Harry Potter, Hunger Games and TV shows. Also video games, and my cup from
X-Factor.
Graduation Picture
I keep all of my special things on the right side of my bookshelf. Including my copy of
The Shadowhunter's Codex by Cassandra Clare and her husband.
Hunger Games Wall
So after, when he whispers, "You love me, real or not real?"
I tell him, "Real."
Featuring Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and
Little Mix.
One Direction Wall Número Dos
Originally, this wall was just the headshots I got from the
Up All Night Tour (Louis has a crown because he's my favorite, duh). And then it kind of just became a One Direction mural.
Bed
I know it's a mess, but this is how I sleep in my bed. I wanted to take pictures of it without making it up, so you can see exactly how it is. And that's Nugget in the corner.
My Bedside Table, of Course
With my lamp, Ash Ketchum hat and dinosaur Casanova. He was my good luck charm when I went to the
X-Factor.
There are a few things missing, like my lime green ottoman that doubles as an art box, chair and inside of my closet. But now that you've seen what you have, don't you want me as your interior designer?
