The Niall Horan and Demi Lovato dating buzz may have died down, but that doesn't mean that some fans weren't looking to see what would go down between the two at the X Factor finale.

Behold, this is what went down--a pic is making the rounds of Demi and Niall talking.

Yep, talking. Not hugging, kissing, flirting, holding hands or whispering sweet nothings in each others' ears.

While mildly disappointing, Niall and Demi never said they were dating, though a source recently squealed to The Examiner in response to the whole Niall and Selena Gomez dating rumor, explaining, "Niall still has a crush on Demi Lovato, who's been Selena's friend for a long time. He wouldn't ruin his chances with Demi by dating Selena."
