Team Blake's Cassadee Pope is staying strong on The Voice. She has managed to transition from fan favorite, to major contender, as coach Christina Aguilera is now even rooting for Cassadee with her own team out of the competition. Despite her prior onstage experience as the lead singer of pop rock band Hey Monday, Cassadee has still grown as a vocalist throughout the competition. She keeps getting better and better every week! She may have a huge newfound television following, but we were fans of Cassadee as a solo artist way before she started killin' it on The Voice! Cassadee stopped by Cambio to talk about her hopes for solo success (above) way back in February, shortly after her pop rock band announced their hiatus.
It came as no surprise to us when Cassadee performed Avril Lavigne's "I'm with You" as her song of choice last week and "My Happy Ending" a few weeks ago on The Voice. In our interview, Cassadee named Avril, along with Katy Perry, as a musical inspiration!
Cassadee also revealed to Cambio that even though she'd love to have a song on pop radio, she will always have a rock edge. While Cassadee's rock 'n roll side has definitely shone through on the show, her coach Blake Shelton has opened her up to a new genre--country. Cassadee killed it with her performance of his wife Miranda Lambert's song "Over You," and even reached the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Singles Chart! Last week, Cassadee took on another country song, "Stand" by Rascal Flatts.
This Monday, Cassadee's hometown visit to West Palm Beach, Florida will air on The Voice.
