Who Named These Celeb Kids?

Reese Withersoon is a mother to three, Ava (1999) and Deacon (2003), whose dad is her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe, and Tennessee James (2012) whose dad is her current husband, Jim Toth. Reese was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but was raised in Nashville, Tennessee.

Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy's son's name has quite the ring to it. Bingham (2011) is the couples' first child together. Kate also has an older son named Ryder (2004) with her ex-husband, Chris Robinson. Matt explained via Twitter, "For those wondering, Bingham is my mum's maiden name." His middle name Hawn is a tribute to Kate's famous actress mom, Goldie.

Like Kate Winslet, Alicia Silverstone and Christopher Jarecki also named their son Bear (2011). The name was suggested by Christopher's mom. Alicia told Us Weekly, "We had narrowed our list to five boy names, and then we couldn't really decide. He suggested Bear or Blu, and I loved them both."

Joel Madden and Nicole Richie have two adorable kids with two very unique names, Harlow (2008) and Sparrow (2009). Nicole told People magazine, "We have different tastes in names. Sparrow was one we both liked. I liked the way it sounded with Harlow." Joel added, "I wanted to give [Sparrow] a name that he's going to have to stand up for. I love it; I think it's a beautiful name." We have to agree.

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green have two boys together, Noah (2012) and Bodhi (2014). While Megan and Brian have never revealed why they chose the name Bodhi, in Buddhism it's the understanding possessed by a Buddha regarding the nature of things. It translates in English as enlightenment and also means awakened.

Busy Philipps and Mark Silverstein are proud parents to two girls, Birdie (2008) and Cricket (2013). Busy explained on the Today Show that "Since I grew up with a nickname - Busy being short for Elizabeth - when my husband and I started to have our babies, we decided that if wanted to call our kids something, we would just name them that thing that we wanted to call them." Fair enough.

Chris Martin is creative when it comes to lyrics - and names. Gwyneth Paltrow' told TodaysParents that Chris is the one who came up with Apple (2004) for their daughter. "I loved it straightway. I thought it was so unique and sounded cool. She is nearly eight now and it fits her so perfectly," she said. "I can't imagine her being called anything else." The pair recently "consciously uncoupled," and she remains the apple of their eyes, along with son Moses (2006).

Paul Anderson and Milla Jovovich wanted to go back to their roots with their daughter, Ever (2007). Milla explained, "Paul has Scottish blood in him (not to mention two tartans in his family!) so we wanted to give her a name that reflected her 'Celtic' roots." As for Gabo, "It's a mixture of my parents' names. The first two letters are after my mom's first name, Galina and the last two letters are after my dad's first name Bogie!"

We bet the other kids think it's pretty cool. Jason Lee explained to Us Weekly that Pilot's (2003) name was inspired by a song on Grandaddy's 2000 disc, The Sophtware Slump. "The opening track, 'He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot,' absolutely blew my mind when I first heard it. It was from this track that my wife came up with the name Pilot for our son." Pilot's mom is Jason's ex, Beth Riesgraf.

Geri Halliwell told Hello! magazine that the spring flowers inspired her daughter's name, Bluebell (2006). "But what really clinched it for me was my mother telling me that the bluebell is increasingly rare - so it's precious flower, which seems just right for my daughter." As for Bluebell's middle name, it is a tribute to two of Geri's heroines - Madonna (and Child) and Madonna (the pop icon).

Jermaine Jackson's son Jermajesty (2000) had to be on this list. No details on the "majesty" part of Jermaine's youngest son's name, but he does has five other sons whose names all start with J. Since his oldest was born in 1977, it looks like he started doing the J thing before the Kardashians were doing the K thing.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are parents to two beautiful girls. Their first born is Sunday Rose (2008) and then came Faith Margaret (2010). Keith explained how they came up with Sunday's name. "For me, Sunday used to be the loneliest day of the week because nobody's hanging out on a Sunday. They're all with their families and I used to dread Sundays. But when I met Nic, it became my favourite day of the week because we always spent it together. Nic had the same feeling so we said that if we had a child, we should call her Sunday."

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have three uniquely-named sons, Kingston James McGregor (2006), Zuma Nesta Rock (2008) and Apollo Bowie Flynn (2014). But all we know for sure about them is that "bowie and Flynn = mothers' maiden names," because Gavin tweeted it. Baby name expert Pamela Redmond Satran, co-author of The Baby Name Bible, has speculated that Zuma is named after Zuma Beach in Malibu, where Gavin had an epiphany that began his career. Cute names, but even cuter kids!

Penn Jillette and Emily Zolten achieved their goal of giving son Zolten (2006) and daughter Moxie CrimeFighter (2005) unusual names. Penn said, "I love the name Moxie, I love that's it's a purely American word, and those are rare, and I love that it stands for old-fashioned spunk and energy. EZ pushed for her middle name, CrimeFighter, because EZ doesn't have a middle name and thinks middle names are stupid. So, it's just a joke. When she gets pulled over by the police she can show her license and say, 'We're on the same side, officer, my middle name is CrimeFighter.'"

Actress Shannyn Sossamon wanted something that wasn't a name for son Audio (2003), and we think she nailed it. "We wanted a word, not a name, so my boyfriend read through the dictionary three or four times," she has explained. "We were going to call him Science, but thought it might get shortened to Sci, as in Simon." Audio's father is children's book and illustrator Dallas Clayton.

Bear (2013) is Kate Winslet's third child and first with Ned Rocknroll. She got the name from a friend of hers who had Bear as a nickname. She told CNN that her kids Mia (2000) and Joe (2003) helped her decide on it early in her pregnancy. She loved the name because her friend Bear "was very much a bear, he was everybody's shoulder to cry on, he was a big bear hug," she has said. "He was just this great figure in my life."
