Not this year.
Although the network listed the "Partition" crooner as one of the headlining acts for the show, Beyoncé and her rapper hubby didn't make an appearance at all...at least not in the flesh. Instead, the duo sent a video of themselves performing instead, closing out the night with footage from their "On the Run" Tour in Cincinnati.
In the video, Jay Z hit the stage, rapped a few verses as the beat for "Partition" played in the background, and then a sultry Beyoncé appeared near the back of the stage and rocked it on a stripper pole.
Even though we weren't watching the duo perform the song live at the show, we have to admit we were still glued to the TV as the songstress sang and writhed around the stage in a onesie. It was, after all, Beyoncé.
The superstar couple hasn't revealed why they didn't make it to the awards show, but they're currently in the middle of their tour. Friday, they performed in Cincinnati and Tuesday they will hit the stage again in Foxborough, MA.
And they still won big in their absence from the BET Awards. Beyoncé picked up the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and she and Jay Z picked up Best Collaboration as well.
