Food ads are like psychological warfare. We are all trying to diet and watch what we eat and they somehow manage to get in our heads and absolutely destroy every ounce of willpower we might have had.
You know the drill. You're sitting there watching TV late at night and suddenly, some ridiculous fast food promo pops up on the screen. Next thing you know, that mouth-watering menu item becomes the ONLY thing you can think about. You need it more than you've ever needed anything before.
We've even heard of some people (friends of friends) who have literally dragged themselves out of bed and gone through the drive-thru with their slippers on after seeing a compelling enough commercial (OK, fine - It was the day Taco Bell released the Cheesy Gordita Crunch, if you must know...)
Anyway, food ads are powerful little diet saboteurs, but the problem is that what we think we're ordering, based on the ad, and what we actually get are often two very different things, at least in the looks department.
This guy set out to prove that point and he went to a variety of different fast food chains to compare his order to their ads. As you can imagine, it didn't go all that well.
After McDonald's, Jack in the Box, Wendy's and Burger King all failed on their first attempts, he went back to the counter and explained that the food wasn't as "attractive" as it was in their online pictures.
The takeaway? This guy has obviously never done online dating...
