The Magic Trick That Just Won't Go Away: Find Out How It's Done

We have seen so many different magicians doing this same trick, we're shocked that anybody even bothers with it anymore. Perhaps the reason they do is because it STILL somehow gets a reaction.

This video was posted online a couple of days ago and again, the old trick has become a hot topic of conversation. Literally, though, it is one of the oldest tricks in the book.

How do we know? Because we have the book. Seriously, one of the members of Team Cambio (who wishes to go unnamed) used to be a magician and they have become our go-to whenever we need to know how something was done.

In this case, the whole thing is embarrassingly simple. The magician shows you five cards. You look at them and choose one to be "your card," although you don't actually grab the card. The magician shuffles the deck, shows you the five cards again and your card is gone. So, how do they do it?

***WARNING: If you keep reading past "how do they do it," you're going to find out HOW they do it, so don't get mad***

Here's the thing. No matter which card you choose, your card won't be in the second group. Why? Because they're all different cards. The trick utilizes face cards so it's hard to actually memorize exactly which ones are being shown...and they're shown quickly to minimize people trying to do so.

Here is the first hand...

Jack of Diamonds, Queen of Spades, Queen of Hearts, Jack of Clubs and King of Diamonds. Now, here is the second hand...

NONE of the cards from the first hand are in the second hand, so no matter which card you picked, he would have "magically" removed your card. And that's really all there is to it. Pretty simple, huh?
