Miley was apparently unaware that the ikurriña is the flag of the Basque Country, and not Catalonia where the concert took place. Opps. Someone needs to study up on their history...
Many people from Catalonia supposedly want to hold a referendum on independence from Spain, and because of that, the estelada flag of the separatist movement has become a common sight in Barcelona. The ikurriña is understandably very rarely seen.
This isn't the only randomly wrong thing Miley has done on stage lately. A few days ago she threw a cardboard cutout of Selena Gomez into the crowd.
