"In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes," Benjamin Franklin once said.That being the case, if you're making money and NOT dead, you're supposed to be paying taxes. Yeah, it sucks, but we've all gotta do it.
Still, there are some celebrities and high-profile people who have tried to play dodgeball with their tax bills and it generally doesn't work out too well.
In this case, however, Teen Mom star Maci Bookout apparently didn't realize that taxes weren't being taken out of her MTV paychecks and now she's got back-taxes like nobody's business.
In Touch obtained documents showing that the reality star owes Uncle Sam $78,308 from 2011. "She's in denial," a source tells the mag. "She needs to find a way to pay back this money. She's gotten herself into a lot of trouble."
Apparently, she's trying to pay it back, but that's a whole lot of dough to suddenly try to come up with, especially since she's not on the show anymore and probably isn't bringing in anywhere near what she was back then.
Hopefully she is able to get it all sorted out.
