"Royals" may have catapulted Lorde into superstardom...but that doesn't mean she likes the song.The singer totally dissed her hit single, reportedly telling the Daily Record, "I listen to people covering the song and putting their own spin on it and I listen to it in every single form except the original one I put out and I realize that actually it sounds horrible."
"It sounds like a ringtone from a 2006 Nokia," she continued. "None of the melodies are cool or good. It's disastrous. Awful... but for the same reason, in the context of the way I released it, it just worked out."
This is the same song that won Lorde song of the year at this year's Grammy Awards, and also Best Pop Solo Performance.
What Lorde does like though is Justin Bieber's new song "Looking for You," which the New Zealander confessed on Twitter Friday.
"fffff**k this new bieber "looking for you" is truly great," she tweeted. "that prechorus melody is truly transcendent."
Hmm...do we smell a collaboration in the making?
