Days after Solange attacked Jay-Z in the epic elevator fight watched round the world, details continue to emerge about what may have caused the ugly showdown. Remember how Solange supposedly got into a scuffle with designer Rachel Roy, the woman on the right side of Kim Kardashian in this pic, before Jay? It all makes sense now, because apparently she was getting too friendly with Bey's hubby at a Met Gala after party."At the gala, Rachel was being flirtatious with Jay," a source tells E! News. "Once everyone was at the Boom Boom Room for the after party, her flirtations were elevated." Queen Bey herself decided to speak up.
"Beyonce approached Rachel to let her know the behavior was disrespectful," the source says. "Solange came over to have her sister's back, and things got heated with her and Rachel. Jay said some disrespectful things to Beyonce and Solange as the confrontation was going down. That's why all hell broke loose in the elevator and why Beyonce just stood back and let Solange hit Jay." It probably didn't help that Jay was also supposedly planning to go to Rihanna's after party solo before the blow up.
Making matters more interesting is the fact that Rachel was once married to Damon Dash, who's a former business partner of Jay-Z. Damon showed support for Solange over the incident, Instagramming an old pic with the singer saying: "I am impressed with her independent spirit...she seems like a fighter." And ironically enough, Rachel attended the Met Gala with Solange back in 2012.
My, how times have changed. It seems that something's up with the "Drunk in Love" duo...Bey was spotted without her engagement ring after the incident and there's speculation she's getting her wedding tattoo removed. But at least she and Solange are all good now. Sisters before misters, right?
