We may finally have some insight about why Solange came to blows with Jay-Z in an elevator as her sister Beyonce looked on after the Met Gala last week.A new report claims Solange got mad that the rapper was planning to attend Rihanna's starry after party at Up and Down solo, where the "Diamonds" singer bared her butt in a revealing dress. As the trio left another party at The Standard, Jay said he'd be heading to Riri's bash and "didn't need extra security" since Bey wasn't joining him, according to the NY Daily News' Confidential.
Bey's younger sister supposedly started questioning the couple about why Jay needed to attend yet another party alone. "She said, 'Why can't you go home?' and to Beyonce, 'Why does your husband need to go to the club right now?'" a source says.
The "99 Problems" rapper shot back "You're one to talk" at the 27-year-old mother who "seemed drunk", which sent Solange into the kicking and hitting rage we've all seen by now. Jay didn't end up going to the party, but he and Bey's sis had reportedly butted heads earlier in the evening when two of her friends tried to get into the Standard party using Jay's name.
"They wouldn't leave and kept name dropping Jay-Z," another source says. "They were pretending to be guests of his and not hers. Management went to Julius (Beyonce's bodyguard who restrained her sister) and said there's a problem."
When Jay got wind of this, he supposedly told Solange not to use his name, which is why she was already annoyed with him before they got into the elevator. This actually sounds like a pretty realistic story and if indeed true, we think Solange shouldn't meddle in her sister's marriage. If Bey didn't care that her husband was going to Rihanna's party, why should her sister get so upset?
Solange has since deleted all photos of her and Bey from her Instagram except for one, and Blue Ivy's parents are carrying on as usual, looking picture perfect while cheering on the Nets court side last night.
