"I was really bothered by the media pitting me and Katy Perry against each other," she explained. "I really like Katy Perry and I really like her fans...We both just happened to want to put our singles out within a week of each other and it's not necessarily convenient for everyone and maybe a little bit awkward, but we don't need to force feed this negativity."
Now, Mother Monster is once again proving that she's got nothing but love for the "Roar" singer.
After Katy's performance at the American Music Awards caused controversy because of her Geisha costume, Gaga spoke out in her defense. During an interview with Carson Daly, Gaga said, "I think people are generally too sensitive and they should just leave her be, but you know, I'm not really the person to ask."
Of course, Gaga knows how it feels to be the center of such controversy and probably feels bad for Katy because she's been there so many times before.
