Niall, Harry, Liam, Louis and Zayn looked dressed up and sharp for the moving performance, surrounded by sparkly lights and screaming fans.
Harry and Liam spoke with Zap2it backstage after recording the performance, saying, "It's quite strange being back on The X Factor because you kind of know what the contestants go through."
Liam added, "It's just nice talking to them and getting their vibe of what's going down. They are all very talented people this year as well, so I think it's ace."
Turns out X Factor contestants Alex and Sierra are a 1D fave--and not just because the musical lovebirds performed "Best Song Ever" last night.
Liam told Zap2it backstage, "I thought it was ace. He's got a great voice, he has. We thought [their cover] was wicked."
