Naya Rivera says that playing a lesbian on TV is "a big responsibility," but she's "honored" to have the role.In a new interview with Latina magazine, Naya also clears up rumors that she's gay, saying, "No, I've never had a relationship with a girl, contrary to what people might think."
Naya is best known for playing Santana on Glee, a gay character who dated Brittany, played by Heather Morris.
This season, Naya's new love interest will be played by Demi Lovato.
Despite the confusion about her character versus her real life, she said she is "honored" to play the role.
Naya explained, "There are very few ethnic LGBT characters on television, so I am honored to represent them."
She added, "I love supporting this cause, but it's a big responsibility, and sometimes it's a lot of pressure on me."
Naya is currently dating rapper Big Sean.
