Robert Pattinson has kicked off promotional duties for Breaking Dawn-Part 2 in Australia, and the Twilight heartthrob talked about how his life has changed over the past four years."It got a lot smaller in a funny sort of way," Rob said on Today. "You kind of gradually get a little wary of people--I'm slightly coming out of my shell as I get a little older. It's intense when you have a lot of scrutiny and stuff. It's kind of crazy."
The Kristen Stewart cheating scandal that rocked his world three months ago clearly hasn't helped matters. While any questions about that were off limits during the press day in Sydney, Rob did share how difficult it is to keep his private life private.
"It's pretty hard," said the 26-year-old actor. "For one thing, there are a of people who want to try and make money off it, and that's the biggest incentive of anything. And just the laws that stop people from doing it are just almost nonexistent."
Things do, however, seem to be back on track with Rob on and off screen love Kristen, 22. Some very invasive paparazzi shots hit the web last week that showed the two kissing in her backyard.
"You're fighting against huge media conglomerates as an individual," Rob said about the challenges that living his life in the public eye can bring. "It's really difficult. Especially if you're a relatively shy person, it's kind of difficult."
The final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2 hits theaters on November 16.
"It's going to be incredibly strange not to be doing it anymore," Rob says about the Twilight journey coming to an end.
We hope he'll get a little break from the spotlight!
