Katy Perry had a big night last night. She performed her new hit single "Roar" at the MTV Video Music Awards and she received a tweet from President Obama's official Twitter account.Katy Perry had a big day yesterday! The singer performed her new hit single "Roar" to close out the VMAs, she released a sneak peek of the video during the show and...oh yeah, she was totally tweeting with the President.
Well, to be fair, it might not have been the Prez himself behind the tweets (the account says that President Obama's tweets are signed "-bo" and this one wasn't), but President Obama's account did send her a shoutout.
Of course, they weren't complimenting her on her awesome VMA performance, although that would have been kinda cool. Instead, they thanked her for helping to spread the word about the President's healthcare plan.
What was kind of cool, though, is that they used the "#Roar" hashtag.
Katy was super excited about the tweet and shared her adorable reaction with her more than 41 million followers:
Talk about an eventful day!
