The Yeezus rapper reportedly declined a judging gig on the hit Fox show because he felt it was "too mainstream" and would "ruin his street cred"For most people, being offered a multi-million dollar deal to judge a hit Fox series would be a no-brainer.But for Kanye West, it's a simple 'no thanks.'
According to UsWeekly, the Yeezus rapper was up for the third and final judging spot on season 13 of American Idol, but declined due to worries it would hurt his reputation.
"He didn't want to go that mainstream," a source tells the mag of Kim Kardashian's boyfriend. "He didn't want to lose any street cred. So he turned it down."
That would probably never happen if Kris Jenner was his manager!
Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban are already set to return to the judging panel, and songwriter and record producer Dr. Luke is rumored to be the current frontrunner for the third seat.
