We caught up with Matt Damon and the cast of the sci-fi threiller 'Elysium' at their red carpet premiere to talk about their thoughts on the future!Lets hope this isn't the real future!Starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, Elysium takes place on both a ravaged Earth and a very luxurious space habitat called Elysium. It's a science fiction action film that explores political and sociological themes like immigration, heath care and class issues. (Think Hunger Games with Elysium as the Capitol and Matt in the J-Law role.)
"One theme that stands out is the segregation of classes," Adrian Holmes tells us on the red carpet at the film's Los Angeles premiere. "I think people will be at the edge of their seats watching the movie," Faran Tahir adds. "But people tomorrow will wake up and think about the more serious underlying themes of the movie."
Not surprisingly, appearing in the film made the cast think a lot about the future of mankind. "I hope we don't lose touch of humanity," says Josh Blacker. "Doing surgery in a garage underground and smoking a blunt--I hope isn't the kind of future we face," Jose Pablo Cantillo says.
Matt hopes for "a future of abundance for everybody and my children included." Matt's much younger mini doppelganger, Maxwell Perry Cotton (he plays Matt as a child), got a glimpse of his future. "I got to meet Matt and he said just keep working hard and you'll get there." We see a bright future for Maxwell!
Elysium hits theaters tomorrow, August 9.
