'Teen Mom 3' star Mackenzie Douthit has suffered from diabetes since she was a child. This week, she had a scary reminder of how quickly her condition can change at a moment's notice.
Teen Mom 3 star Mackenzie Douthit has suffered from Type 1 Diabetes since she was 11 years old.As a painful reminder of her ongoing struggle with the condition, the reality star was admitted to the hospital earlier this week and is expected to remain there for a few days.
At first, when Mackenzie checked in, she tweeted that she had been trying not to let stress get to her, but ended up in the hospital, anyway.
Of course, concerned fans wanted to know what had happened and if she was going to be OK.
In a follow-up post, Mackenzie clarified that the hospitalization was related to her diabetes, posting this photo collage, accompanied by the caption, "Great life of a brittle diabetic... thanks for your prayers."
But, there is some silver lining...Mackenzie's son's father, Josh, is still in her life (they're engaged!) and she used her down time at the hospital to get a jump on her wedding planning.
What's even cuter is that both Josh and her mom came to the hospital to keep her company and they had a little "slumber party" with her.
We wish Mackenzie a speedy recovery and can't wait to see her on Teen Mom 3 when it premieres on August 26!
