While the name is obviously unique, people are especially curious as to why they didn't follow Kardashian tradition and name their child something that started with a "K."
On this week's episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim was still pregnant and was discussion name options with her family. During the discussion, she revealed why she didn't chose a "K" name and everyone pretty much came to a consensus that they liked the name North, so it obviously wasn't a shock to anyone in the family after she was born.
