In an emotional new video, the new dad and rapper opens up about his daughter Blue Ivy Carter and his biggest fears about being a fatherJay-Z may be a superstar rapper, but he worries about being a good dad just like any new parent.
The hip hop mogul gets emotional and chokes up talking about his 18-month-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter. "We still marvel at her," he says as he holds back tears to his friend and music producer Rick Rubin while discussing his upcoming album Magna Carta Holy Grail.
Beyonce's husband also explains that his fears about parenting were fueled by his own father leaving and inspired a song called "Jay Z Blue" on his latest album.
"It deals with, you know, my pop left when I was young, so he didn't teach me how to be a man nor how to raise a child or how to treat a woman," Jay says. "And I have a daughter. It's the paranoia of not being a great dad."
