What happens when you make a t-shirt, it becomes a huge hit and it has Taylor Swift's face on it? Uh, you get forced to stop selling it...duh!
That's what happened to t-shirt printing store owner Kevin Adams!
He recently made a Taylor inspired tee to sell to his Watch Hill, Rhode Island locals after she bought a new house in their town. The shirt included T-Swift's Andy Warhol-looking portrait on it with the words omg!!! watch hill !?!? "It's pretty big news with Taylor coming here, so we wanted to make a fun tee shirt. We purposely made one that didn't say her name on it. Then we put it on our Facebook page, and people liked it, so we started selling it," Keven tells RadarOnline.
Not feeling the joke at all, Taylor's people reportedly called Kevin and threatened him legally if he did not stop selling the shirt with Tay's pic on it. So that's what he did.
"Very promptly," Adams says, "we got a call from this guy from Nashville who told me to stop making them. He called me last Tuesday or Wednesday."
Presenting himself as a representative of Taylor hoping to protect her brand, "He started throwing his weight around and trying to intimidate me," Adams says. "I'm sure this guy was just doing his job, but I don't believe I'm doing anything wrong with this shirt."
This isn't the only t-shirt drama Tay has been involved with lately! Her fans got Abercrombie & Fitch to pull tees with a hurtful, Taylor-inspired quote on it! Read about that here! And remember a few weeks ago when Watch Hill locals got VERY upset that Tay's security was patrolling and bullying the public beach in their town? We're sure this has all made them welcome her even more...NOT!
Do you think Taylor was the one who had the t-shirt madness in Rhode Island stopped or was it her management team? Do you think the t-shirt was harmless or lame? Let us know!
