It was a treat for all of us when we got to see Cher perform on The Voice season four live finale.Even the contestants and coaches, who are all stars themselves, seemed excited about seeing the legendary pop diva perform.
Surprisingly, country crooner Blake Shelton seemed the most excited about the whole thing, and in a new interview, he explained the sentimental reason why the meeting Cher was such a "big deal" for him.
"I lost my dad a year and a half ago, and my dad's favorite artist on Earth, bar none, no question, was Cher," Blake told TODAY.com. "My dad worshiped Cher. I wish he could've seen tonight's episode because I would've been texting him saying, 'I met Cher. I took a picture with her.'"
Aww...how sweet is that?!
Blake also revealed that even though his contestant Danielle Bradbery won the show that night, meeting Cher was his favorite part of the finale. "That's what I love the most, is that I got a chance to meet Cher," he said. "She has no idea about any of that, but it was a real big deal to meet her."
Considering that Blake is such a huge star in his own right, we think it's sweet that he's still so humble.
