True Blood co-star Jamie Gray Hyder said 12-hour nude shoot with Joe Manganiello was "quite a night...We shot the scene in 30-degree weather in the middle of the woods!"Filming a sex scene with True Blood star Joe Manganiello isn't as fun as it seems.Jamie Gray Hyder, who as werewolf Danielle enjoyed a scintillating threesome with the hot actor in the season premiere, told Cambio that it was more chilly than sizzling.
"We shot the scene in 30-degree weather in the middle of the woods," she revealed. "It was quite a night."
And during most of the 12-hour shoot, Hyder, Manganiello and co-star Kelly Overton were entirely nude!
"Of all shows, True Blood is the best at making you feel comfortable," she said about baring all. "The cast and crew is used to people being naked-they take all the proper precautions to make sure everybody's comfortable."
Her preparation began months before the scene was shot.
"Stephen Moyer [who plays über-vampire Bill Compton] directed the first episode, and he called me personally and we discussed it. We decided it was the right thing and just went from there."
"[We talked] in December [before] the holidays-which is the most inopportune time to try and stay in shape," she laughed. "I had all the holidays to eat and drink my face off and then I [worked out] the entire month of January...I knew if I was going to do this, I wanted to look good. I knew that's what would make me comfortable ultimately on set."
But her fitness routine was nothing compared to Managniello, known for his six-pack abs. "He's the ultimate professional...his discipline is insane. Just the workouts he does and the diet plans he's on prior to shooting those scenes."
"He's very easy on the eyes," she enthused about acting alongside the Magic Mike hunk, adding, "I know I will probably gain some haters here in the next couple weeks. I was worried about the women seeing the episode and hating me, for getting to do that! But Joe's a great guy. I'm just happy to work with him in any respect."
Hopefully Manganiello's character, Alcide, won't be the star killed off by the end of the season.
"There will be a major death on the show," Hyder confirmed, who said like the other cast members she shed tears after the actor's last scene.
It's a huge lost "as a fan and as a member of the cast," she said. "Even if you haven't worked with [that actor], you're so invested in the show. It is sort of mourning a loss when one of the cast members is killed. We're all friends offscreen, so not only is it sad to see people go from the show, it's also sad to see people go from the production and the everyday running of the show."
Who do you think will be bumped off this season? Are you looking forward to seeing more of Manganiello's abs?
