In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Demi confesses that she had to sign a suicide pact in elementary school promising she wouldn't hurt herself.
"The principal called my parents and made me sign this suicide contract saying that I would not kill myself [when I had suicidal thoughts at age seven]. They weren't expecting that so young," the "Heart Attack" singer reveals.
Demi entered treatment in November 2010 to deal with depression and addiction issues and was released in January 2011.
Since then, she's remained sober and been an anti-bullying and mental health awareness advocate.
We're so glad Demi's doing amazing these days! Hopefully, her honesty will encourage other people facing similar problems to seek help, too.
