We caught up with The Wanted at KISS FM's premiere party for the group's new reality show, 'The Wanted Life.' The guys are definitely working hard on their new album and playing hard as well.Okay ladies, you can finally stop screaming now cause The Wanted are back and taking over our TVs this summer. The group was at KISS FM's premiere party for their new reality show The Wanted Life, which follows their move to Los Angeles as they try to finish their latest album.
The guys thrilled lucky fans (who won tickets) with a meet and greet and photo session. They acoustically performed several hits including "All Time Low," "Glad You Came" and their latest single, "Walks Like Rihanna." Then fans got a sneak peek of the first episode of their show which hits E! on Sunday, June 2 following Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
At the party, the guys filled us in on everything--from what it was like to meet the First Lady to what kind of pet they'd want.
But first things first. We're glad to hear that Nate Sykes is doing well. Max George said, "Everyone loves Nate," and the other guys acknowledged how much they miss him since his throat surgery. Jay McGuiness said, "It's a real shame that he's missing out a lot on this promo stuff and tour around the world a bit." Not that Nate, the baby of the group who is not 21 yet, would be getting too crazy. "Out of all of us he is actually the most responsible," said Jay. "When he can he parties, but mostly he sits at home with a cup of tea."
As for The Wanted's reality show, Jay believes their fans will be surprised to see "that we just don't roll out of bed and like sing a song and party. We actually struggle with making an album. There is a lot of work that goes into it and then the partying side of it is like just releasing a lot of tension." But the boys legendary partying ways do come under attack by Scooter Braun in the first episode, which inspired Jay to quip, "To quote philosopher Miley Cyrus, we can't be tamed!"
But back to the music. "The Wanted are always trying to do feel good stuff cause we are a happy bunch and we like to put smiles on people's faces. Yeah, [the album] will be an upbeat thing," said Max. Jay, who would love to collaborate with Katy Perry, said, "I think she would be good because she is fun pop... and her songs are quite cool." Tom Parker added he would like to work with Jay-Z and Siva mentioned Justin Timberlake.
One incredible opportunity the boys had recently was a visit to the White House to meet Michelle Obama. Max said it was an "absolute honor. She was so nice and cool. She doesn't shake hands, she only hugs, and we got to meet the dog."
So are there any pets in the group's future? Jay would love to get a hamster or a micro pig, while Max joked, "We already got one," referring to himself. He added, "We do have some deer in our garden. Yeah, we have deer lizards and snakes." And Jay jumped in and joked, "And fans a lot of the time [in our garden, too]."
