During The Voice Top 8 Live Eliminations, Adam Levine was heard saying "I hate this country" into a hot mic right before the results were announced.Last night, on The Voice Live Top 8 Eliminations, right before the results were announced, Adam Levine was heard saying "I hate this country" into a hot mic while he was off-camera.
The Voice judge and Maroon 5 front man immediately felt the backlash on Twitter, where fans were outraged, to say the least.
Comments ranged from fans saying they were boycotting The Voice and Maroon 5 to telling Adam to leave if he hates the country so much. Others pointed out the unfortunate timing that he would say such a thing the day after Memorial Day.
Instead of apologizing, Adam took to his Twitter and simply posted the definitions for "misunderstand," "lighthearted," "humorless" and "joke," but that doesn't seem to have appeased the patriots who were offended by his comment.
Watch the video above (he says it at the 1:14 mark) and tell us what you think of Adam's controversial comment.
