Fresh off her music video premiere for her hit single "Hurricane," singer/songwriter and actress Bridgit Mendler dished on her love for songwriting and the song "Hurricane" itself."'Hurricane' was so much fun to write," Bridget told us during an acoustic performance of the song in the Jungle Room Recording Studio in Glendale, Calif. "I love the song because it's so emotional. I know some of my most vulnerable and passionate songs I've written have been about love."
Speaking of love, Bridgit said that's one of the topics she enjoys writing about the most.
"The reason why I like to write about [love] is that it's something that all people relate to and are so deeply impacted by," Bridgit continued. "I think those stories are really exciting to tell because there's so much emotion behind them."
And she loves to write her own music in general, saying, "I love being able to see where that takes me. I'm just interested to see what I'll be inspired by in the future and be able to share that with people in the future."
If she could write songs for anyone else though, it would have to be one particular star.
"I've had a few dreams where I've written songs for Beyoncé," she said with a smile. "It's out of my ballpark right now but here's to hoping."
Before that dream comes true, Bridgit is still riding the waves from the Oct. 2012 release of her album Hello My Name Is..., and starring as Teddy Duncan on the Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie.
