How could we have all been so quick to assume?
Well, let's start with the album cover that features a blurred out Kim Kardashian photo...oh, and the title.
Then, there are the lyrics, of course.
At one point in the song, Ray J sings "Hit it from north/Brought her head down south/Now that I'm finished/She's on to Mr. West."
Sure sounds like it's about Kim...or is another one of his exes dating a Mr. West, too?!
Those closest to Kim definitely think the song is directed at her.
A source tells Hollywood Life that Kim's sisters are "disgusted" by the song and think Ray J is "a total lowlife."
The site also quotes a source close to Lamar Odom, who says Lamar thought it was "f*cked up" when he heard it and said it was done in very poor taste.
They also have a source close to Kanye West who says, "Kanye don't condone broke a**, jealous [guys] who be trying to bite off he and Kim's fame just to stay, wait, just to become relevant."
But Ray J claims that isn't what he was doing at all!
In an interview with New York's Hot 97 yesterday, Ray J was asked whether or not the song was about Kim and he said, "It's a song, it's not about that, it's about a concept. People going way too deep...it's all love!"
Unfortunately, the DJs interviewing him definitely didn't buy it.
Do you think that "I Hit it First" is about Kim?
