On Tuesday's American Idol, the ladies sang and last night, it was the guys' turn! The 10 male semifinalists took the stage to prove why they should (or shouldn't be) the next Idol.Elijah Liu started the evening on a high note, who crooned 'Stay' by Rihanna and oozed charm. The 18-year-old was a crowd pleaser and judge favorite. "You look great," Nicki Minaj offered. "You look very marketable. I could imagine seeing your face on blankets and posters and cups."
Unfortunately, the judges didn't have praise for Charlie Askew, who wore a tie dyed tank top and a feather earring to perform a dark version of 'Mama' by Genesis. "What happened? I don't know what happened," Nicki wondered, criticizing his new look. Randy Jackson was less tactful, calling his performance "terrible" multiple times. Ouch!
Luckily, host Ryan Seacrest stepped in to soothe Charlie's bruised ego, telling him he "has friends here" and letting him go backstage before the tears really started rolling. Aww!
Tonight, we'll find out which 10 contestants advance to the next round and who goes home! Which one is your favorite so far?
