Ed is talking about his new album--including details like the name and the release date!
Put this date on your calendar and let the countdown begin: February 17, 2014.
Yes, we realize that is light years away at this point, but the promise of new Ed songs in the near-ish future is all we've got right now.
Ed tells Noise11.com, "My second album has taken full shape recently. I don't know if there will be any collaborations on it yet. I have a name for it but I can't tell you the name just yet. But it doesn't start with a letter."
Chew on that for a second. He's not going to tell us the second album's name--but "it doesn't start with a letter." Hmmm.
Ed did reveal one of the song's titles, however, a tune called "Photograph," which he explains is "the big one on the album."

If you're lucky enough to see Ed on tour with Taylor Swift, don't get your hopes up that you'll hear any of his new songs, however.
Ed dishes, "Coldplay do that and big bands can ease in new songs to their set, but my fans are so viral that the moment that I'd play a new song every one of them would hear it. They are on YouTube and Twitter, and I think there should be some surprise. I don't want everyone knowing what the record is before they get it. I want them to listen to it first."
We're sad to have to wait, but he brings up an excellent point.
Other stuff Ed is working on? Rumor control. Ed is shooting down rumors that he's dating Taylor and all around addressing the gossip surrounding him, tweeting: "these stories being written about me are bollocks."
