In July, NFL cheerleaders in California celebrated a work-related victory when a judge declared them as official employees of the league, and now a former squad member for the Baltimore Ravens cheerleaders is making headlines for a particularly disturbing reason.Ex-Baltimore Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck went from making history as the NFL's oldest cheerleader at the age of 38 to being charged with raping a 15-year-old boy 10 years later. In June, the 48-year-old accepted a deal and entered a guilty plea to fourth-degree rape. On Friday, the ex-wife of former Constellation Energy CEO Mayo A. Shattuck was sentenced to 48 alternating weekends in jail as punishment for the crime, which requires her to register as a sex offender. The judge also ordered her to pay $10, 650 to the family of the victim.
As reported by NBC News, the 48-year-old was accused of engaging in oral sex with a teenage boy last Labor Day at a Delaware beach house. Apparently, Molly first befriended the teen who attended school with her son on Instagram. A school official who learned about the incident then reported the allegations to police.
In response to the sentencing, Molly told reporters, "I will spend the rest of my life making this right."
