We love a One Direction mention, no matter how small--and adored the shoutout to 1D during the opening sketch of SNL this weekend.

In the sketch, President Obama is visited by the ghost of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who seems pretty well versed about the pop culture of today.

President Obama was hoping to have a serious political discussion with Dr. King, but he just kept bringing it around to the celebrity world--Beyonce, 1D, and Michelle Obama's bangs, among other topics.

The One Direction mention went down like this, with Dr. King noting, "You're the first black president, but we're still waiting for our first black magician. There hasn't been a black King of England...and there's still not a single black child in the band One Direction."

LOL.

Of course, One Direction was the musical guest on an episode of Saturday Night Live last spring, where they also appeared in a sketch called "The Manuel Ortiz Show."
